80’s Nostalgia

The upcoming release of Transformers and the announcement of a potential Thundercats movie got me to reminiscing about what cartoons and movies were the biggest players from my childhood.  I thought I’d throw up a few video clips from my childhood favorites.

My favorite cartoon was Thundercats.  I think it was only on for a couple of years, but for whatever reason, that’s the cartoon that sticks with me the most.  I had a lot of the toys and the Thundercats Lair, but of course, I think all of those were sold in a garage sale several years ago.  Wish I still had those…

Another big player on my catoon and toy scene was Transformers.  Here’s the opening theme from the original cartoon.  Can’t wait to see the new movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles came out when I was a little older, maybe around 10 or 11 years old.  This was the first cartoon that I remember making a point to see the pilot episode.

Reading Rainbow wasn’t that high on my list, but for whatever reason, watching the intro to the show really takes me back.

The NeverEnding Story was my favorite movie as a kid.  There were others, like Swiss Family Robinson and Flight of the Navigator, but The Never Ending Story takes the top spot.  Here’s a clip from the movie… or is it…
